Good news, Manila contacted us. They're picking us up at the airport. Good things to come.
As most of you know by now, Corey Friend is on yet another adventure, this time, to the Philippines (no, not Thailand, Joel). I'll be spending the next 8+ months in downtown Manila, one of the largest cities in the world, teaching, coaching, and living. My adventures and stories will be documented here. Good luck, everyone, and enjoy!

7 The Hard Way
Well, much like my esteemed colleague, Sir Alec Douglass Home Torigian, I too begin my blog, the blog that will serve as one of the few avenues of communication between Manila and the United States (and Tanzania (and Chile (and (Insert Country Here)))) with a Boy Meets World episode title. That's right, folks, in 7 days (well, almost 6 now), I'll be on a plane back to Southeast Asia.
The next week will be one of mass chaos, packing, well-wishing, friends, family, and eventually, another great plane ride to start another great adventure. As of now there are a few...challenges that are being presented to myself and Mr. Matt Harren, my associate on this new adventure. These challenges include:
-Not knowing our housing situation
-Not knowing our jobs for the next...8 months
-Not having a visa...
-Not knowing...if Manila knows we're coming...umm...ergh...
So...yeah! Exciting things ahead of us! I'll keep you all posted with the answers to these...things.....But! For now, the greatest challenge we have going into this is that we don't know a whole lot about what we'll be doing, and because of that, we don't really have too many expectations for our next 8 months. This can be bad, but, I like to think that this is the best way we can go into this situation, with no expectations and no chance of being let down. EVERY SINGLE DAY will be an adventure, EVERY DAY will be a new learning experience, and EVERY DAY will be a new opportunity to explore, to learn, to live, to be challenged, to have my BUTT KICKED, and to grow. God will most definitely be along side for this ride, and as we all know by now, most Corey Friend adventures tend to get wild, ridiculous, and EXCITING!
So, for now, pray for a safe journey, for a quick adjustment to Filipino life, for a quick visa-obtaining process, and for challenges, for excitement, and adventure! Thanks everybody, and welcome to the next 8 months of adventure.
